The new look of the 2013 LS makes a bold statement, and what's under the hood truly backs it up. The direct-injected 4.6-liter, 386 hp [1] V8 engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission on a more agile platform to deliver an invigorating blend of acceleration, seamless shifting, control and fuel efficiency.  

[1] Ratings achieved using the required premium unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 or higher. If premium fuel is not used, performance will decrease.

Drive Mode Select  
Whether you're looking for added exhilaration or taking a relaxing drive through the neighborhood, Drive Model Select enables you to make your LS more responsive or efficient with the simple turn of the switch .

Dual Variable Valve Timing
Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence and Electronic intake valve timing (VVT-iE) optimizes both the intake and exhaust valve timing throughout the rpm range, according to engine and driving conditions. The system continuously monitors the engine’s speed and load, then responds by delivering optimum power for each situation, helping deliver improved fuel economy and reduced emissions. Torque is increased at lower speeds for better thrust. And power is boosted at higher speeds for better acceleration. The electronic intake valve control improves response in all temperature conditions.

All-Wheel Drive (AWD) ON ALL MODELS
To help provide even more traction and comman, all-wheel drive is available on every LS, even when you opt for the 19-inch wheels [1] . The system distributes power to the wheels with the best grip, helping to improve traction and control while delivering greater command during acceleration and cornering.  

[1] 19-inch performance tires are expected to experience greater tire wear than conventional tires. Tire life may be substantially less than 15,000 miles, depending upon driving conditions.   

High-Performance Hybrid
With 438 total system horsepower and a 0-to-60 time of 5.6 seconds, it's no wonder the LS 600h L is a leader among luxury hybrids.
