Performance
342-hp V8 (GS460)
The powerful 4.6-liter V8 engine propels the GS 460 from 0 to 60 in a mere 5.4 seconds

Ratings achieved using the required premium unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 or higher. If premium fuel is not used, performance will decrease.

Performance figures are for comparison only and were obtained with prototype vehicles by professional drivers using special safety equipment and procedures. Do not attempt.
303-hp V6 (GS350)
The potent and efficient 3.5-liter engine gives the GS 350 exceptional acceleration and low emissions.
Dual Variable Valve Timing
Both the GS 350 and GS 460 are equipped with dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), which improves efficiency and acceleration. The system continuously monitors the engine's speed and load and then responds by adjusting the intake and exhaust valves to deliver optimum power and efficiency at any speed. The GS 460 also includes an Electronic intake valve control feature (VVT-iE), which improves responsiveness for all temperature conditions.
Ultra-Low Emission
While high-performance can often mean higher emissions, the GS 460 and GS 350 have been certified as Ultra-Low Emission Vehicles (ULEV II). For more information on emissions ratings, please visit www.epa.gov.
Eight-Speed Sequential-Shift Automatic (GS460)
This advanced transmission has additional gears to match the optimal engine speed to road and driving conditions. This provides smoother shifting, better acceleration response and enhanced fuel efficiency. For those who desire a bit more control, the sequential-shift feature allows the driver to quickly shift gears by simply nudging the gear shift forward or backward.
Six-Speed Sequential-Shift Automatic
The Electronically Controlled Transmission with intelligence (ECT-i), provides the GS 350 enhanced fuel efficiency, smoother shift feel and better acceleration response. The ECT-i transmission learns your acceleration habits and adjusts the shifting timing accordingly. The sequential-shifting feature allows for a more interactive driving experience by allowing the driver to simply nudge the gearshift forward or backward to change gears.
Variable Gear-Ratio Steering (GS460)
This electronic system actively adjusts the steering response. Variable Gear-Ratio Steering (VGRS) optimizes the steering-gear ratio to driving conditions for easier low-speed maneuvering and increased high-speed responsiveness and stability. It also works in conjunction with the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management System (VDIM)
[1]
to help enhance control.
[1]
Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) is an electronic system designed to help the driver maintain vehicle control under adverse conditions. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver steering input can all affect whether VDIM will be effective in preventing a loss of control. Please see your Owner's Manual for further details.
Active Power Stabilizer Suspension System (GS460)
The available Active Power Stabilizer Suspension System equips the front and rear stabilizer bars with an actuator. Wheel-speed and steering-wheel-angle sensors send information to the system's Electronic Control Unit (ECU), which calculates how much force is needed to help keep the vehicle flat in a turn. This information is then sent to the front and rear actuators that torque the stabilizer bars, thus increasing the vehicle's sway resistance. And since this is an electric system, response time is shortened when compared to conventional hydraulic systems.
Adaptive Variable Suspension
Standard on the GS 460 and available on GS 350 models, this advanced suspension system offers you the choice between a Normal or Sport setting. The system automatically senses the character of the road and constantly monitors your steering and braking movements, and then adjusts the shock absorbers to maintain your selected comfort or performance level. It also works in conjunction with the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management System (VDIM)
[1]
to help enhance control.

Performance Brake System
The advanced braking system on the GS helps enhance handling during sport and daily driving. Ventilated disc brakes include Brake Assist
[1]
, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) to help enhance control during hard braking. Brake discs are ventilated for superior cooling performance. It also works in conjunction with the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management System (VDIM)

to help enhance control. In addition, the GS 460 features an Electronically Controlled Braking (ECB) System to help provide exceptional braking control and power.
[1]
Brake Assist is designed to help the driver take full advantage of the benefits of ABS. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Braking effectiveness also depends on proper brake-system maintenance and tire and road conditions.

Dual Exhaust
Designed to increase performance, the dual exhaust system allows the engine to “breathe” more easily, for maximum efficiency and power.
